Meteorologists are warning that the continuous line of storms may even spawn an unusual weather event called a derecho, which is a massive storm of Mother of the Bride Dresses strong straightline winds spanning at least 240 miles.

The storm prediction center has placed the tristate under a slight or moderate risk of severe weather on wednesday.Northern illinois, northern indiana and northwest ohio are under the first high risk of 2013.

Robinson said that the brunt of the storm system will be along and north of interstate 70.

Rico noted that the high winds associated with the storms could arrive as much as 15 minutes before the rain and lightning, so people looking at online radars should keep that in mind.

The tristate was on the lower edge of the 2012 midwestern derecho late last june, but generally escaped the heaviest part of the storm.Even so, tens of thousands of tristate homes lost power from the storms.
